Anymeeting is arguably the best free video conferencing software available and GoToMeeting is arguably the best paid video conferencing software for basic video conferencing online meetings.
So what are the differences? The first thing we can mention is amount of participants allowed in one web conferencing meeting. AnyMeeting allows 200 participants and GoToMeeting allows 25. So that may be enough for your to decide right now but lets get into more of the finer details.
Reliability: GoToMeeting is more reliable than AnyMeeting. How much more reliable is the web conferencing? AnyMeeting is a stable software although it can get overloaded with too many participants and too much streaming content. With that being said perhaps Anymeeting is stretching their participant count by a few but overall its a solid software for webinars.
Usability: GoToMeeting is way better than their direct competitors such as WebEX in usability. The first options are almost too simple: Meet Now or Schedule a Meeting. AnyMeeting also has a straightforward simple interface. So it would be a close tie with GoToMeeting winning.
Features: AnyMeeting has 6-way sharing; screen sharing; up to 200 people – great features. Also allows for recording and for one to sell tickets to webinars. GoToMeeting has Screen Sharing, Application Sharing, and annotation tools for screen sharing. It also works well on mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. So again GoToMeeting is a bit better here unless you really want to sell tickets to your webinars.
Support: Anymeeting is entirely free (and ad-supported) but customer support is limited to forums, tutorials, and occasional email support. GoToMeeting is more expensive than the alternatives; plans start at $49/month and if you get the free trial they will send you a $39/Month email plan you can lock in for 1 year. Overall it really depends on your budget.
