We’re excited to announce the availability of two-factor authentication (2FA) for Zendesk sign-in. It’s available to customers in all plans because we believe 2FA is an important security feature.

Two-factor authentication is a crucial tool for securing admin and agent accounts. It requires two simple elements – ‘something you know’ (your password) and ‘something you have access to’ (your mobile phone). By requiring both factors, 2FA can greatly reduce the risk of your user account being compromised.

While 2FA is now available to all agents, it is an optional user setting. Since 2FA is an important part of authentication strategy, we highly recommend all agents enable it.

  • Authentication codes can be retrieved via mobile app or SMS
  • 2FA supported for  web and Zendesk mobile apps(iOS/Android)
  • Users can generate backup recovery codes
  • Admins can audit 2FA enablement by exporting a report
